A STORY SPANNING THE GLOBE

“Photography is the only language that can be understood anywhere in the world.” – Bruno Barbey

BEHIND HOST STUDIO

THE MAKERS

We’re Ayesha and Gavin Host - the Australian photographers behind Host Studio. For nearly two decades, we’ve been drawn to capturing the quiet moments, wild places, and the stories that live in between. Ayesha holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Photomedia and Graphic Design, while Gavin began his photography career in the automotive field.

Our work has taken us from wedding aisles to remote mountain roads, and into collaborations with hotels, tour companies, and brands across the globe. Every image in our collection is shaped by that journey - refined through years of client work, countless hours with a camera in hand, and a genuine love for the process - whether it's photographing on film or digital.

Host Studio is where it all comes together.
A lifestyle-led collection of fine art photography - available as museum-grade, ready-to-hang framed wall art and archival photographic prints.
Made to last. Designed to feel. Created to bring soul to your space - because we believe in framing the feeling.

AYESHA & GAVIN

OUR STORY

Dawn breaks over an unfamiliar horizon. The world stirs, and we're already there, cameras in hand, hearts racing with anticipation. This is where we feel most alive – in those quiet moments before the day unfolds, when possibilities seem endless and the light is pure magic.

We're Ayesha and Gavin, two souls intertwined by love, wanderlust, and an insatiable curiosity for the world around us. Our story isn't told in years (though it's been quite a few) or countries visited (35 and counting!), but in shared sunrises, spontaneous road trips, and the countless "what if" conversations that bloom into our next adventure.

From our roots in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia to our current home by the sun-kissed shores of Mandurah, just south of Perth, we've always felt the pull of the unknown. It whispers to us in the rustle of unfamiliar forest leaves, in the aroma of street food from a far-flung market, in the smile of a stranger who becomes a friend.

We chase light across continents, yes. But more than that, we chase moments. The quiet epiphany atop a misty mountain in Nepal. The silent conversation shared with a local whose language we don't speak, yet whose smile speaks volumes. The breathless awe as a Kenyan sunrise paints the savannah gold. These are the souvenirs we treasure most, and the gifts we hope to share through Host Studio.

Embracing the unknown has been a key part of our journey. From moving to Canada sight unseen, to trekking through the Himalayas, to building a life in Vietnam – each experience has pushed us beyond our comfort zones. These adventures have taught us that growth, both as artists and individuals, often comes from saying 'yes' to new challenges and unfamiliar territories.

So here we are, two wanderers with ink-stained passports and pockets full of film. We're the ones you'll find huddled over steaming cups of chai, sketching out our next big idea. We're the couple on bikes, wind in our hair, chasing the perfect golden hour shot. We're those up at 3am lacing our boots ready to hike a volcano through the night. We're the dreamers who believe that every new experience, every conversation with a stranger, is a step closer to understanding this beautiful, complex world we call home.

Welcome to our journey. It's unpredictable, it's beautiful, and it's always, always an adventure.

MEET AYESHA

Fuelled by chai, salad and sun, Ayesha's always looking to her next creative project. When she's not exploring faraway lands, you may find her practicing yoga, going for long runs on the coast, chasing the perfect sunrise, curled up with a good book or tending to her beloved house plants.

MEET GAVIN

Fuelled by coffee, cake and ice-cream, Gavin's rarely without a camera in his hand. When he's not shooting a roll of film, you may find him cycling (minus the lycra!), restoring our '84 Volkswagen van, listening to a podcast, renovating our 70s home or building a new piece of furniture.
